This book focuses on the roles played by women in the Anglican Church of Kenya with particular reference to the Diocese of Nakuru. It sets out to identify and account for ways in which the women were marginalized in the church. More specifically, the study seeks to answer the following questions: How did the Diocese of Nakuru evolve and what role did women play in it? What organisations did women establish and how effective were they in the discharge of this role? What specific activities did women participate in and how effective did they perform them? In what ways and with what consequences were women marginalized in decision-making and work in the church, for instance, the provision of education, health care, agricultural extension, and other social services?
