Thin Layers

This collection of poetry represents a lifetime. My lifetime. I separated the book into five sections. Love is not just about love. It is also about love lost, love out of reach, love that causes pain, and love that promises unending joy.

I adore Nature, but this is the briefest section of the book. So many poets have captured nature with gentle precision and insightful observations. I may not have given nature the beauty it deserves, but it has given me a sanctuary from an often-unforgiving world.

The Reflection section here is a kaleidoscope of ideas at times deep and foreboding and at other times silly and nonchalant. This is how I see the world, humanity, and humans.

By the time you get to Self, it is time to buckle up and put your trays in the upright position. I have been brutally honest and raw. You might see glimpses of yourself in there, if you dare to look for them.

Everything comes together in Words. Words are toys to be played with and tossed about. They can cut us and mend us and make us cry and make us laugh. There are a few here that made me laugh even after the third time I read them.

I hope you can feel the vulnerability and see the humanity, if not the the human wrapped in thin layers.
