THREE PROMISES. ONE SCHOOL FAIR. ONE VERY OVERBOOKED KID.
Owen Pike wants to be the person his friends can count on. The helper. The problem-solver. The kid who says yes.
Especially if saying yes means he'll finally have a place at their table.
But when Owen promises to help in three places at the school fair, his plan has one small flaw: there's only one Owen.
Now he's racing between responsibilities, trying to keep everyone happy while his carefully arranged day falls apart. Add a little sister with big ideas, a stuffed rabbit called Mr. Business, and an unforgettable potato costume, and being useful has never been so complicated.
Packed with lively illustrations, comic strips, and laugh-out-loud mishaps, The Backup Kid: Terrible Things Come in Threes is a warm, funny story about friendship, overcommitting, and learning that you don't have to say yes to everything to deserve a place beside your friends.
