It's 1 a.m., the session starts at nine, and slide 34 still says "find a better example."
If you train people for a living, you know that night. The problem is rarely your skill. It's everything around the training itself: the vague request from the client, the course outline, the handouts, the quiz, the satisfaction survey, and the paperwork a quality review will ask for.
The Augmented Trainer shows you how to hand a large part of that load to Claude AI while keeping your own judgment in charge. It follows a course from the first client request to the final review, in the order you actually work.
Claude won't run your session for you. It takes the blank page, the first draft and the tedious formatting off your desk, so you can spend your time on the part only you can do: the people in the room.
Designing. Turn a fuzzy "we need something on management" into a real training brief, then into a course outline with a clear throughline. Produce your materials without drowning in content, and adapt one module for learners who arrive with very different levels or needs.
Facilitating. Prepare for what usually goes wrong, use Claude during a session without losing the room, and rebuild the energy of a live group in a virtual classroom.
Assessing. Write assessments that measure what people learned, not what they remember for ten minutes. Get your satisfaction surveys to tell you something useful, and let continuous improvement come out of work you're already doing.
Proving. Treat your quality file as a system instead of a punishment. Write honest course listings and published results you can back up, and let quotes, agreements and confirmations almost write themselves. Your records stay audit-ready as you go, instead of being rebuilt the night before.
Along the way, you'll learn the four building blocks of a good prompt, what Claude does well and where it gets things wrong, and the guardrails that protect confidentiality and learner data. The last chapter helps you build your own prompt library and gives you a starter kit of 15 ready-to-use prompts, one for each major stage of the job.
Inside this book:
It's written for independent trainers, corporate learning and development teams, instructional designers and training organizations that need to prove the quality of their work. You don't need any technical background. If you can write an email, you can use this book from the first chapter.
