Serpent in the Sanctuary

The Devil has been at War since the Garden of Eden and he is good at it after thousands of years.

Spiritual warfare in the church is discussed and decoded by Archbishop Paul M French. How the devil attacked the Roman and Anglican churches from within. An investigation and analysis of spiritual deception inside the sanctuary.

The story of the Church in the modern West is, in many ways, a story of paradox. On the one hand, Christ has promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church. On the other, the most visible expressions of that Church appear shaken by scandal, divided by doctrine, and seduced by the spirit of the age. To many believers looking at the headlines, it can seem as if the devil has not only stormed the walls but taken up residence in the sanctuary itself. This book begins from a simple, sobering conviction: the enemy of souls has never ceased his work, and in this generation, he has directed particular fury against the historic institutions of the Christian faith.

Archbishop French, The Primate of the Conservative Anglican Communion explains how we got to these schismatic moments and offers a solution for us going forward. How we can reclaim the weapons of prayer and penance and how we can discern spiritual deception, so that we can stand firm armored in grace until the final victory.
