The dual-language book contains approximately 150 fairy tales and folk tales taken from a three volume scholarly work collected by Franz von Schönwerth and published in the 1850s. Translator, Charlotte Wolf has transcribed the folk tale selections with the German text on one side and the English translation facing. An introduction will contain critical material, with footnotes, about fairy tales from Germany and from East Bavaria in particular, and on Schönwerth and his legacy.
