Drawing on Scripture, Catholic teaching, and the family life of Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin, the book helps you build a brief, adaptable rule around five anchors:
- a table where God is thanked and people can be present
- one sustainable practice of household prayer
- sacred images placed with intention
- a limited weekly reset offered as service rather than performance; and
- prudent hospitality suited to health, safety, capacity, and real needs.
Christian hospitality is generous, but it never requires admitting an unsafe person, concealing abuse, disregarding a child's protection, or exceeding serious limits. Welcome can take many forms, including a meal, a call, help through the parish, or support in an appropriate public or professional setting.
The appendix provides a model rule, a ten-question examen, and household prayers. No perfect rooms are required. The aim is a home that supports prayer, charity, communion, and ordinary human life.
