My Son Calls Her Mom

The most reliable witness in a custody evaluation is the one nobody thought to interview: the child who stopped drawing.

Melissa Wynn has a perfect life in the affluent, meticulously curated neighborhood of Briar Lake. But lately, she is losing time. Every Thursday evening, after a cup of chamomile tea prepared by her devoted husband, David, Melissa falls into a deep, unshakeable sleep. When she wakes, her seven-year-old son, Noah, is gone-relocated to the house next door, in the care of Camille Frost, a new neighbor who seems overly interested in Melissa's "failing" health.

Melissa thinks she's losing her mind. Then, at a neighborhood block party, she hears Noah call Camille "Mom."

Determined to uncover the truth, Melissa begins to track her own life. What she finds hidden in her husband's home office and a kitchen cabinet is a betrayal more chilling than an affair. David isn't just drugging her; he has hired a professional family evaluator to move in next door and build a bulletproof custody case against her. Every blackout, every slurred word, and every missed school pickup is being meticulously documented to prove Melissa is an unfit mother.

David has planned for everything. He has the timeline. He has the evidence. He has the community completely fooled.

But David made one fatal miscalculation. He forgot that a seven-year-old child sees everything. And Noah has started recording.
