Midrash: The Architecture of Jewish Consciousness-Book Two: Sacred Space, Covenant, and Foundational Figures, compiled by Rabbi Menachem Creditor, is a curated anthology of classic rabbinic sources exploring the meaning of sacred space, the power of covenantal relationship, and the lives of Judaism's formative figures, drawing from texts such as Genesis Rabbah, Lamentations Rabbah, the Talmud, and other early midrashic collections. Organized thematically, the volume presents these sources in their traditional forms, often with translation, allowing the voices of the sages to illuminate the Beit HaMikdash and its mysteries, the trauma of destruction and exile, the dynamics of divine power and miracle, and the moral and theological imagination surrounding figures such as Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and David.
