Memory and the Rural Context of the Spanish Civil War attempts to break this silence by recovering the memories of survivors of the Civil War and the early years of Franco's dictatorship in rural Spain. It combines archival research with oral testimony from one village in Huelva to look at memory as an important site of socio-political struggle.
