In a future divided by the Fragmentation Wall, society is split into two castes: the Thinkers, an elite class governing from a technologically advanced city, and the Enactors, who labor outside its borders to sustain it. Between them stands M.A.S., an autonomous security system designed to preserve order at any cost.
The story begins in the Museum of Intellects, where an archivist discovers an unmarked cortex disk labeled only M-0. Inside it lies the chaotic stream of consciousness of a man named Meliade.
As a teenager, Meliade faces the decisive allocation exam that determines whether he will join the privileged Thinkers or be exiled beyond the Wall as an Enactor. When the test appears to condemn him to demotion, he begins confronting the collapse of everything he believed about himself-only to learn that the failure was part of a hidden final stage designed to identify exceptional minds.
Years later, now a level-one Thinker working within the highest ranks of the system, Meliade discovers that intellectual mastery comes at a cost. His reason has become a defense mechanism, suppressing emotions and leaving him incapable of happiness. As encounters with Enactors expose the moral weight of the society he helps maintain, cracks begin to appear in the system-and within himself.
When a controversial neurological program called Gaudium promises to restore his capacity to feel, Meliade is forced into a journey that will challenge the foundations of identity, power, and human purpose.
M-0 is a philosophical science-fiction novel about reason, control, and the search for happiness in a society determined to eliminate it.
