Into the Shadows

Most heroes know exactly what to do, how to fight evil, and how to save the day.

Noah Nelson is dragged into a world of warriors and monsters, and he doesn't have a clue how to fight. When he tries to help the people of this strange land, he makes matters worse. Facing savage beasts, underground creatures, and a shape-shifting witch, he's barely surviving them all by the skin of his teeth. At the end of the day, he's always making the wrong choice at the wrong time.

Fortunately, Noah is aided by unfaltering warriors, a sun-worshiping wizard, a girl who leads a village, and a young man whose job is to worry about things. Despite their help, Noah is still way out of his depth in this new world. Only by facing his failures can he learn the dark secret behind his capture and, hopefully, how to get back home.

This inventive new novel from bestselling author Nick Smith throws an ordinary boy into a world that is both strange and remarkably familiar. A great read for those who enjoy isekai and portal fantasy featuring modern day protagonists.
