Goal: James Barlow is the newest FBI agent, recruited by Oscar Vicente after working closely with Agent Parnell in the capture of a spy the bureau had been chasing for years (see Dark Valley). He and his wife, Mary, moved to Northern Virginia to accommodate Mary's new gig as an English Professor at George Mason University. James accepts Oscar's invitation. James is paired with Dan Parnell as the junior partner and tasked with taking down two Antifa cells identified in an earlier case (see Blackmail).
The shooting of two ICE agents takes the two to Boston. Congressman Goodman's intervention helps thaw the friction between the local authorities and federal agents.
When Dan is wounded, James finds himself the lead agent.
Antifa's involvement in the death of the ICE agents brings to light the involvement of a student protest organizer. With the attempted assassination of the sitting President, authorities up the game and justice is served.
