Do We Share This?

"Do We Share This?" book that explores different ways we share and various boundaries that are important for kids to learn. I originally wrote it for my own children.
My boys were two and three years old when they started daycare. It would be their first time with people outside of our family for such a large part of their day, and I wanted to prepare them as much as I could. I wrote this book as a guide for the conversation I hoped to have with them around body safety, sharing, and boundaries.
In the original (Canva-illustrated!) edition, each page contained only one simple question - the one that now appears first on each page. I would read each question aloud and answer it myself. They soon caught on and excitedly began calling out the answers. They loved being part of the storytelling. As they grew more familiar with the book, our discussions deepened. We added more questions and explored the "how"s, "when"s, and "where"s of various scenarios.
My favourite part of this book is the way it leaves room for each parent and child to make it their own. I encourage you to use the illustrations and prompts on each page to ask your own questions, and to invite your child to join the conversation with their thoughts, feelings, and observations.
