Born Again

Cancer is a word which people fear to talk about and discuss due to the catastrophic effect it has on people's lives. Many of us do not realise when we become critically ill and it is after thorough examination by the specialists people get to know they are affected by a deadly disease. Though science has developed and there are many kinds of therapies, medicines and advanced methodology of surgery available for the treatment of the disease, however, the journey to wellness is extremely painful. It needs the careful and understanding attention of a caregiver both at home and at the hospital.

Most oncologists are professionals by their attitude which is part of their work ethos. They also show a lot of human understanding towards the patient and their families. While the patient is fearful for their own life, the family members are also under trauma, they need an equal amount of understanding and their concerns need to be heard and addressed along with the patient. The fear of losing a near and dear one is immense. Most of the doctors are calm by nature and are usually good at counselling sessions. The meeting with the doctors finds peace with the ill patients and the mentally grieving family.

The sole reason for writing this book is to show the emotional, psychological and medical journey of a patient and a doctor when they fight this deadly disease as a team. It is a beautiful teamwork of spirit and belief which the duo share among themselves which makes a winning team. This book is about some survivors and their eminent oncologists who have given their entire life treating people, their personal journey, achievements, personal griefs and the accolades they achieved in their way of life.
