A Plastic World: The Fight to Save the West is the turn from diagnosis to defense - and J A Griffin wants to be careful about that word, because it gets heard wrong. When a man says he is fighting for the West, people assume hatred, nostalgia, cruelty, a desire to keep someone out. None of that is what this is. This is not a fight against anyone. It is a fight for something.
Each essay defends one thing - not attacks a thing, defends one. Family. Beauty. Memory. Borders. Childhood. The courage to judge. The right of a civilization to remain itself and hand what it built to the next generation.
