Red Star Casing

Two young women in Alabama decide to take advantage of a week off from work and hike the Appalachian Trail as far as Virginia, where they plan on taking a train ride back to Birmingham. They leave one of their cars at the trail parking lot, intent to drive over together to retrieve it after they return home. Unknown to them, someone is hunting them. A well known 'ghost' assassin, known only as The Red Star. Both women are killed by one shot from 1 mile away. Then he disappears, and the hunt is on. The only clue is a bullet casing with a red star on it. Meanwhile, a young escapee is being hunted in the same area as the killings, so she must evade not only local law enforcement but also Federal agents, not to mention members of her own gang who want to know why she did not help them in their own escape attempt.
