Goth Nights, Broken Veins

There are doors beneath the city…and some are only meant to be found when you are ready to disappear.Lena Voss has spent years perfecting a life that works. At thirty-eight, she is composed, capable, and quietly detached—moving through her days with the practiced ease of someone who has learned how to perform normalcy without ever truly feeling it. Her career is stable. Her routines are precise. Her solitude is manageable. But beneath that carefully constructed life, something restless lingers.A quiet hunger.A sense that she has drifted into a version of herself she no longer recognizes. And then, one night in the rain, she finds the door.Hidden beneath the pavement in the oldest part of the city, marked only by a dim amber light and the echo of distant music, it leads to Nocturne—a place that seems to exist outside of time, outside of rules… and outside of the life she thought she understood.Inside, the world shifts.Candlelight flickers against velvet shadows. Conversations dissolve into silence. Time loosens its grip. And the people—beautiful, composed, and unnervingly present—do not perform for anyone. They simply are.And among them is Lucien.Watching.From the moment Lena enters, his attention finds her—not the version she presents to the world, but the one beneath it. The one she has spent years hiding. In his gaze, she feels something she hasn't felt in a very long time:Seen. Not admired. Not desired in the ordinary sense. But understood in a way that unsettles her completely. As Lena is drawn deeper into Nocturne's shadowed world, the boundaries between control and surrender begin to blur. Nights stretch longer. Days feel distant. The life she built starts to feel like something she is remembering rather than living. And the more time she spends with Lucien, the more she begins to understand—Nocturne is not just a place people visit. It is a place that changes them.Because beneath its beauty lies something far older.Something patient.Something that does not age… and does not let go.And Lucien is not simply a man who sees too much.He is something far more dangerous. As desire deepens into obsession, and reality begins to fracture around her, Lena must confront a truth she can no longer avoid:Is she losing herself…or becoming who she was always meant to be?
