Fall City

In Fall City, the dead are worth more than the living.Three years after the events of Radio Nowhere, Staci Russell returns to Fall City. She's there to cover a tragedy, but Radio Nowhere's shadow still hangs over the city—and returning means confronting everything she's tried to bury in her work. When a historic building collapse is caught on live television an anonymous figure calling himself the Appraiser takes the credit, releasing a video asking the public to calculate the dead man's worth.WFCN photojournalist Chance Monroe has footage that challenges the official account. Together, he and Staci begin following the money behind an ambitious redevelopment project funded by a familiar name, Justin Sharp. As more people die, a disturbing pattern emerges: someone stands to profit from every death.Working beside Chance gives Staci something she hadn't expected to find in Fall City. His humor, stubbornness, and care for the people behind the headlines draw her closer, even as their investigation puts them both in danger. But someone knows what they're finding before they can report it. Leads turn into threats, evidence is suppressed, and the newsroom they depend on may be helping the people they're trying to expose.Staci and Chance have a story that could bring the city's most powerful people down. Now they have to stay alive long enough to break it.
