Differences follows the life of the Gilbert family, who's story begins in 1962 in a small village not too far away from the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield. Michael meets Cynthia, in this beginning year. They were to marry soon after their first meeting, in something of a hurry. Not too many months later, they were gifted with a son, George. He was to grow into a popular child, he worked hard, even as an infant, helping on the farm, which was managed by his grandfather. he still found time for fun, at home or out and about. At the age of five, he'd made friends with neighbours of all ages - his cheeky grin and his infectious giggle melting the toughest of hearts, especially that of Lilie. She was the same age as George given a few months and she lived just half a mile from the farm. They met when George had escaped the farm.. again, on his tricycle. From the first meeting they became inseparable. Every daylight hour they would be found together, fetching and carrying on the farm, going for long walks, or simply playing in the local area. They didn't share the same desk at school but they were in the same form and class. As they grew, their companionship had become accepted by all and, though they had many friends, life was about the two of them. However, their lives would take on a new direction and twist, as jealous eyes would try to interfere - making it clear what they wanted. The envy would cause potential disaster and mayhem. There would be violence on a scale never seen before and, when they thought it was all over, it would come back and haunt them all over again. Would love conquer all? Read on, the ending will surprise you.
