Im dritten Kapitel betrachten die Autoren den Phaser, einen Synchronizer im JDK Package java.util.concurrent, der in Phasen ablauft und deutlich flexibler ist als die existierenden Synchronisationsmittel CountDownLatch und CyclicBarrier.
