Abu Yusuf Yaqoub bin Ishaq Al-Kindi, an Arab Muslim scholar, excelled in astronomy, philosophy, chemistry, physics, medicine, mathematics, music, psychology, and logic, which was known as theology. He lived in Basra at the beginning of his life, then moved from there to Baghdad, where he pursued sciences and knowledge in order to gain from it, during the era of Al-Ma'mun and Al-Mu'tasim, in an atmosphere charged with doctrinal tension due to the problem of the creation of the Qur'an, the dominance of the Mu'tazila doctrine, and the spread of Shiism. The third century AH was filled with various colors. From ancient and modern knowledge. He was famous for his efforts to introduce Arabs and Muslims to ancient Greek and Hellenistic philosophy. He devoted himself to studying philosophy and ancient sciences, and Al-Ma'mun entrusted him with the task of supervising the translation of Greek philosophical and scientific works into Arabic at the House of Wisdom. Al-Kindi played an important role in mathematics, especially in introducing Indian numerals to the Islamic and Christian world. He was also a pioneer in cryptanalysis and devising new methods for cracking codes. Using his mathematical and medical experience, he developed a scale that allowed doctors to measure the effectiveness of medicine, and also conducted experiments on music therapy.
