Nel primo saranno resi noti trama, struttura e linguaggio e temi del testo di riferimento. Nei successivi capitoli, il fenomeno hooliganism verrà approfondito in due maniere differenti, rispetto alle sue caratteristiche generali e rispetto al modo in cui è presentato nel testo di Terson. Peter Patterson, alias Peter Terson, è un drammaturgo inglese nato il 16 febbraio 1932 a Newcastle-upon-Tyne. All'età di 15 anni Terson abbandonò la grammar school e andò a lavorare come disegnatore. Dopo svariate esperienze nel mondo del lavoro, decide di diventare un insegnante e frequenterà il Bristol Training College. Le sue opere vennero prodotte non solo per il teatro, ma anche per la radio e la televisione. Per quanto riguarda le sue opere teatrali, Terson ebbe come modello e guida il direttore Peter Cheeseman presso il Victoria Theatre a Stoke on Trent. Questi lo aiutò a capire come riesaminare e strutturare i propri drammi e, infatti, successi come, ad esempio A Night to Make the Angels Weep (1965) oppure The Mighty Reservoy, lo resero molto famoso.
