If an institution like the USAF has any central place where the lessons of war are generated and disseminated out to the forces that plan and execute campaigns, then it should be its schools. The PME system is a central location where the top officers are sent to learn how to win wars with air power. This research project will examine what efforts the USAF has made in the past to learn the airpower lessons from the previous war. More importantly, it will examine whether the USAF incorporated those lessons (if any) into their PME curriculum and how long it took to incorporate those lessons into their curriculum.
