L'implant cochléaire plonge l'enfant dans le monde sonore. Cependant, contrairement ŕ l'enfant entendant, l'acquisition du lexique ne peut se réduire au bain de langage. Celle-ci se déroule de maničre spécifique en passant par un apprentissage explicite et la répartition des termes acquis et réemployés par l'enfant implanté s'en ressent. L'objectif de cette étude était d'une part, de voir la nature de la composition du lexique et la maničre dont celle-ci évoluait. D'autre part, il consistait ŕ isoler différentes variables afin de voir leur impact sur la nature des termes employés ŕ l'oral et de distinguer la variabilité interindividuelle. Nous avons recensé les termes employés par 40 enfants, implantés avant l'acquisition du langage et filmés ŕ intervalles réguliers. Aprčs classification, les résultats montrent, d'une part que le développement du vocabulaire est spécifique, et d'autre part que la variabilité interindividuelle est marquée.
