Understanding The Gospels

As Jesus Christ is above every other man, so the Bible is above every other book. Charles Dickens said, "The New Testament is the very best book that ever was written or ever will be known in the world." 

Its immense, universal, and lasting popularity is because of its power to change people's lives. Hundreds of millions of people can testify to how the Bible has changed their lives.

Without the Gospels, the rest of the New Testament would be like a lock without a key, a building without a foundation, an end without a beginning. As the Gospels came out of the Old Testament, so the Epistles came out of the Gospels. 

In this book, I give a brief biography of the four Gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as some key characters such as Peter and John the Baptist. Although these men shone as stars in a dark world, they all faded away when the Sun of Righteousness, Jesus Christ, came. 

We will look at the amazing life of Jesus Christ, his teaching, miracles, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension to heaven. 

We will also look at the background and setting in which he lived and the significance of some of the events that were foretold hundreds and thousands of years before his birth in Bethlehem.
