Von besonderer Bedeutung war natürlich auch die schicksalhafte Zeit in Finnland; der Krieg - eine Krise die auf vielfache Weise eine Wende für unsere Familie bedeutete. Die Geschichte beginnt in der Zeit meiner Großeltern in Lammi und in Joensuu und geht weiter nach Helsinki, wo das gemeinsame Leben von Toini und Einari ihren Anfang nahm. Am Ende steht dann die Überlebensgeschichte von Toini - Ein Leben seltsamer als eine Legende. Ich habe es ehrlich und warmherzig geschrieben, gleich wie schwer es war oder wie Drunter und Drüber alles gegangen ist.
