Voici Karel Fonteyne, l'un des plus grands photographes contemporains et de mode de Belgique. Depuis 1968, l'artiste a créé une œuvre considérable qui a sa place dans l'histoire de la photographie. Ses récits visuels intemporels se rapportent à la nature, à l'obscurité et à la solitude, au monde intérieur et à l'ésotérisme, tout en touchant des dimensions non couvertes. Pendant plus de 15 ans, Fonteyne a été actif en tant que photographe de mode, brisant les frontières en introduisant son approche narrative d'artiste contemporain dans le monde traditionnel de la mode. Il a collaboré très tôt avec Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck et Dirk Bikkembergs et, au niveau international, avec Vogue, Interview, Bazaar, Marie-Claire ou Brutus Magazine au Japon. En 1996, il décide de se concentrer sur sa pratique d'artiste contemporain."En général, je ne photographie pas ce que je vois, mais la façon dont mon esprit le reflète ».
