Wer hätte nicht die Schnauze gestrichen voll und wäre froh, dass sie vorbei sind, diese Zeiten. Wann fängt die vielzitierte "Zeitenwende" endlich an und bringt uns wieder seelischen Frieden? Hat sie bislang nicht vielmehr nur "Seitenwände" wie dicke und breite Scheuklappen um uns aufgebaut? Sehen wir die Welt nicht meistens im Tunnelblick der Katastrophenlinse? Der Autor macht aus seinem und unserem Unbehagen eine Tugend und schreibt und illustriert täglich, ein ganzes Jahr lang, ein Gedicht "zur Lage der Nation". Er bildet in ironischer bis sarkastischer Sprache unsere wechselnden Befindlichkeiten ab. Der Humor kommt dabei nicht zu kurz. Heraus kommt am Ende ein Tagebuch der Extraklasse, ein Kaleidoskop einer Zeit großer gesellschaftlicher und politischer Erschütterungen, mit sprachlicher Delikatesse komprimiert. Wenn man sie schon kaum ertragen kann, sollte man wenigstens hin und wieder über diese Krisenzeit lachen dürfen. Viele Texte spiegeln "ewig Menschliches" wider, sind also viel mehr als nur Einsichten in unsere Gegenwart.
