Er hat die Akzente anders gesetzt, das Riesenpersonal reduziert, Figuren umgeschrieben, schwach bei Shakespeare Angedeutetes krass ins Licht gezogen. Aus acht abendfüllenden Stücken werden bei Lanoye und Perceval sechs, die in einem Zug zu spielen sind: ein Theatergedicht um Machtkriege und Überlebenskämpfe. Generationenkonflikt, Geschlechterkrieg und der selbstzerstörerische Kampf des Individuums mit sich selbst - das sind die zentralen universellen Themen dieses Werkes.
