Als absolute Religion sieht er das Judentum dazu erwählt, als Licht für die Völker den Glauben an den einen Gott über die Zeiten hinweg zu tragen. Hirsch beschreibt das Judentum als die Religion von Freiheit, Toleranz, Liebe und Humanität. Über alle Bekenntnisse und Religionsgemeinschaften besitzt sein Leitspruch noch heute Gültigkeit: Verständigung ist das Losungswort unserer Zeit.
