Après avoir été journaliste d'actualité pour Radio France (Paris et Seine-Saint-Denis) pendant une dizaine d'années, Sophie Cuenot a décidé de se consacrer à sa passion pour la " culture montagne " sous toutes ses formes. Elle a écrit trois livres pour les éditions Paulsen (Guérin) : Paris camp de base (2010), puis Petzl, la promesse des profondeurs (2012) et Le Roman de Chamonix (2015, réédition 2023). Elle a également publié de nombreux articles dans des revues spécialisées (notamment Alpine Mag), co-écrit un film sur la vie de Roger Frison-Roche et coordonné pendant dix ans le Fonds d'aide au cinéma de montagne (FODACIM). Depuis 2022, elle est assistante de programmation pour plusieurs festivals de films de montagne.
