Kurz vor seinem Abflug beschloss er, über sein Jahr in Namibia zu bloggen, auf den so entstandenen Blogbeiträgen baut dieses Buch auf. Er schreibt von seinen Erfahrungen, vom Leben und Arbeiten in Okakarara, einem kleinen Ort im nördlichen Teil Namibias. Das übliche Bild Namibias von Wüste, Armut und AIDS wird der Leser in diesem Buch nicht antreffen, sondern eine von den üblichen Reportagen abweichende Sicht auf ein wunderbares Land und seine Menschen. Jedes Kapitel beschreibt die eigene, ganz persönliche Sichtweise des Autors auf Namibia, ohne den Blick für die Realität des namibischen Alltags zu verlieren. Der Leser findet in diesem Buch keine typischen Reiseführerinformationen, sondern entdeckt eine ungewöhnliche Seite Namibias, eine Seite, die den Wunsch erweckt, das Land selbst zu entdecken.
