Mathematik und Logicals passen gut zusammen, denn für beide der zwei Bereiche sind Fertigkeiten wie etwas aus einem Text "herauszulesen", zu einander in Beziehung zu setzen, zu kombinieren und zu schlussfolgern elementar. Eine Kombination aus detektivischem Spürsinn und mathematischen Aufgaben fordert die Schüler auf zwei Ebenen gleichzeitig heraus und fördert die Lust an der Mathematik auch bei Schülern, denen dieses Gebiet vielleicht sonst eher Schwierigkeiten bereitet oder die keinen rechten Zugang dazu finden. Um schon Drittklässlern die Möglichkeit zu geben, die Rechen-Logicals zu benutzen, wird hauptsächlich im Zahlenraum bis 1000 gerechnet. Allerdings sind die meisten Logicals recht anspruchsvoll, so dass der Einsatzschwerpunkt eher auf den Klassen 4-6 liegt. Da die Spannbreite in unseren Klassen aber erfahrungsgemäß sehr weit gefasst ist, werden auch leistungsstarke Drittklässler einige der Rechen-Logicals zu "knacken" wissen.
