Praise for Quintessential Cubicles:
"This collection is full of color and sound, lush images and brilliant flashes of wisdom."
Ellen Birkett Morris, author of Beware the Tall Grass, Lost Girls, Abide, and Surrender
Back on the scene with a new collection of original poetry, Becky Ventura is your quintessential guide as you enter rooms of Art, Life, Spirit, and Play. Ventura, a student of renowned American poet, Judyth Hill, writes eloquently, skillfully, playfully, and imaginatively using free verse, sonnet, sestina, ghazal, and pantoum. Ventura's classical music training is evident in her book. She weaves in musical references seamlessly in these poems. Her ear for rhythm, and melodic shape are also evident. Join the poet in this "beautiful dance of give and take."
Enter the world of Quintessential Cubicles and make it your own.
Artist Statement:
I write from the heart, invoking whatever is living there to present itself, whether it's clear to me or not. I write to evoke remembrance in the reader; whatever that may be. Music influences how I write, my life has been ensconced in classical music, and its forms, phrases and expressions find their way into my poetry, much to my delight.
