But, despite the importance of community development, given its potential to change the condition of a community for the better, literature has shown that different problems such as poor orientation, low mobilisation, apathy, ineffective communication, low funding, poor planning and coordination had seriously inhibited the involvement of citizens in the dire need to participate in solving problems affecting their welfare. This perhaps explains why successive governments in Nigeria have been encouraging the participation and contributions of their citizens. Any outcome?
