In 1913 and 1914, the City of Oxford Tramways Company changed from trams to Daimler buses and became City of Oxford Motor Services. As the Oxford Bus Company, they now serve the city and the county around it, including towns like Abingdon, Didcot and Kidlington. Other companies serving Oxfordshire included Midland Red with their Banbury depot and services in north Oxfordshire, Thames Valley Traction and other subsidiaries of the National Bus Company. Today, Thames Transit run long-distance services from Oxford south into central London.
