Jonas Zilius gelingt es, in seiner Serie Olympia die Vielschichtigkeit eines winzigen Gegenwartsausschnitts fotografisch freizulegen: Mit einem an Bruno Latour geschulten Blick beobachtet er Archäologen bei der Neuvermessung der Südhalle in der antiken Anlage von Olympia. In einer stilistisch ausdifferenzierten Bildsprache zeigt er die Akteure und ihre technischen Instrumente; die mediterrane Landschaft und das touristische Spektakel; die antiken Artefakte und die digitalen Visualisierungsformen, die heute auch für die archäologische Arbeit verwendet werden. Die Montage der unterschiedlichen Wirklichkeitsebenen führt zu neuen Formen der berichtenden Fotografie. Einer Fotografie, die sich der Komplexität der Gegenwart gewachsen zeigt. In einer ersten Vorschau wurde die Serie Olympia2015 in der Staatlichen Kunsthalle Baden-Baden gezeigt und wird 2016 beim f-stop Festival in Leipzig zu sehen sein.
