My House is Alive

Does your house make noises? Thumps, whistles, and creaks? Does your house need a new coat? Does your house always give you room to grow? If it does, your house might be alive!

For children of all ages comes a book that not only provides comfort but entertainment as well for those mysterious noises that happen at night.

Everyone has heard a weird sound or noise they couldn't place at night. But houses settling or reacting to the elements outside don't have to be scary; instead, a shift in perception can teach children that their friendly, warm, and welcoming house is alive - just like them!

In My House is Alive, author and illustrator Veronica Loya provides a subtle and calming adjustment to children about those bumps and creaks at night, from the watercolor pages to the specific language.

By simply adjusting one's imagination to a calming place, the scary, mysterious, or unknown things that the night (or life in general) throws at you can become a beautiful friend or an entertaining story. It's all about how you look at it!

While My House is Alive makes a great bedtime story for toddlers and children, it's a wonderful resource for mentors, counselors, daycare teachers, and teachers to use as well. Parents, grandparents, and babysitters can use My House is Alive as an interactive and engaging way to explain those normal house noises that might scare kids - and teach them how to look at anything unknown in their lives as something to be curious, not afraid, about.
