Theprogress of a culture is measured in terms of thetechniques developed and used by that culture.While technology advances, social problems andeconomic inequality remain stagnate or worsen inour "advanced" society and time. This book is areaction to the historical shift toward the modernvirtues of production and efficiency that has led tothe separation of arts and sciences resulting in aperversion of values and priorities. My analysisbegins with the Greeks, runs though the Medievalperiod, the Industrial Revolution, and ends with thedifficulties of modernity.
