One of the Christian giants of the 18th Century was George Whitefield. This book, GEORGE WHITEFIELD: A BIOGRAPHY by Joseph Belcher, D.D., details his life and ministry. Whitefield attended Oxford University and was ordained in the Church of England, but very soon adopted the teaching and beliefs of John Wesley. At Whitefield's death John Wesley, preaching the funeral service said, "In his public labors he has astonished the world with his eloquence and devotion. He spoke from the heart with a fervency of zeal perhaps unequalled since the days of the Apostles."
