Synopsis

After seven years in a marriage defined by control, silence, and psychological warfare, Hermecia flees Philadelphia with her two children, seeking safety in Columbus, Georgia. The physical distance brings relief, but the damage left behind doesn't disappear. Years of gaslighting-from her narcissistic husband, his family, and men who mistake love for ownership-have trained Hermecia to question her reality, her worth, and her instincts.

As her children begin to thrive-one accepted into an arts school, the other into a prestigious magnet program-Hermecia confronts the harder work: healing herself. Through therapy, fasting, grounding, and creative rebirth, she learns to interrupt destructive patterns and rebuild a life rooted in clarity rather than chaos.
