Das hier vorliegende Buch beschreibt ein Entwicklungsprojekt im SAP-Umfeld bei der HEISAB GmbH in Erlangen. Kernthema ist die Entwicklung eines Personal- und Profilverwaltungssystems auf Grundlage der Programmiersprache ABAP. Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit wird das zu Grunde liegende Problem erläutert und auf die Anforderungen an die Lösung eingegangen. Desweiteren werden in einer technischen Analyse diverse Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten vorgestellt und gegeneinander abgewogen. Schließlich wird dargelegt, warum es sich in dieser Arbeit letztendlich um eine Anwendungsentwicklung im SAP-Umfeld handelt. Darüber hinaus werden Methoden vorgestellt, die ein solches Projekt sinnvoll strukturieren und die Umsetzung deutlich erleichtern. Der zweite Teil soll durch Vermittlung von theoretischen Grundlagen näher an die verwendete SAP-Entwicklungsumgebung heranführen. Hier werden u.a. die Programmiersprache und die wichtigsten Elemente der Anwendung erklärt. Im dritten Teil geht es um die Umsetzung selbst. Es wird gezeigt, wie das Programm optisch und technisch aufgebaut wurde. Dafür werden die Oberflächen, die elementaren Funktionen sowie die datenbanktechnische Umsetzung genauer erläutert.
